This painting is of Mike Hawthorn in his 750 Monza works Ferrari at the 9 hr Goodwood Race in 1955.

He was on Pole for that race and posted the fastest lap in the race.
Peter Collins in the DB3s Austin Martin finished third behind the other Austin Martin that won the race.

I wanted to paint these cars as they are both so beautiful in a atmospheric painting.

The dynamic sky I wanted to compliment the type of drivers 
Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins were...

I researched this day in detail and different photos of both drivers
which developed in the idea of creating this exciting scene.
